Mercer, PA (April 25, 2011) – Mercer Raceway Park and Auto Racers for Kids Charities announced today that the two organizations will team up to provide a contest to see which race team can raise the most money for Auto Racers for Kids in conjunction with the Sprint Car Shootout benefiting Auto Racers for Kids at Mercer Raceway Park on May 28, 2011. The team that raises the most money will receive a $500 prize provided by Stewart Financial Services.
Teams are encouraged to think outside of the box to fundraise for the children’s charity, which will designate all 2011 proceeds for Community Shelter Services’ Back to School Program in Erie, PA. Money can be raised through sponsorship, a portion of team t-shirt sales, donations for autographs, and much more!
The fundraising will culminate at the Sprint Car Shootout program benefiting Auto Racers for Kids Charities on May 28. The event will include a 30-lap, $5,000-to-win 410 Sprint Car main event along with a $300 dash presented by ti22 Performance.
The Sprint Car Shootout program will also include the 358 Modifieds, Outlaw Sprint Warriors and Mini Stocks. Teams from any division that competes in the May 28 event are eligible to receive the $500 prize.
Not only will the race teams benefit from this amazing program but fans will also be in for a treat, as admission prices will stay at the regular Saturday Night Live pricing levels for this event! At only $12 for adult admission and $25 for a pit pass, the Sprint Car Shootout will offer an unmatched deal for racers and fans alike. Families are encouraged to bring their kids for the first of two Kids Bike Races this season!
