April 2nd Racing Program Canceled

Mercer Raceway Park Damp
Today’s Racing has been canceled

Mercer Raceway Park lost its first event to the weather in the 2016 season on Saturday, April 2. “We were disappointed that we could not try our new format,” said track owner and promoter Bill Altman. “We will be ready to try again on April 9.” That is when the speedway will host another Saturday Night Live! racing program.

April 9

Gates will open at the usual time, 4 p.m. for the pits and 4:30 for the spectators. But, racing will start at 5:30 for three of the divisions. The final four will take to the track at 7 p.m.

The Elder Tractor Sales and Service Junior Sprints get the first green flag of the night, followed by the Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles Mini Stocks, and Rock Concrete Supply Modified Lites.

The second stanza will go at 7 p.m. with the Precise Racing Products Open Stocks hitting the track. Then, the Bonnell’s Rod Shop Outlaw Sprint Warriors will get their first track time of the season. The Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds will be next, and the 4 Your Car Connection 410 Sprints will close out the rotation.

This format will allow fans to time their arrival to the track based upon the classes that most interest them. And, it will enable them to head home at a more reasonable hour when their favorite form of racing concludes.

Prices

Regular event ticket pricing will apply, which means that adults will be admitted for $13, seniors (60+) for $11, and students (9-15) for $5. Children (8 and under) will be free. Family Passes can be purchased for $28, which will apply to two adults and up to four minors of any age. Pit Passes will be $30.

If you cannot make it on April 9, the following week will be the first special event of the season for the Sprint Cars. Let’s go Racing! will be presented by Bonnell’s Rod Shop.
