All Stars Washed Out

(Mercer, PA May 14, 2016): The storm front moved into Western Pennsylvania right on schedule and it delivered the punch that knocked out The Arctic Cat All Stars Circuit of Champions. “We are really disappointed to lose this show to the weather,” said Mercer Raceway Park owner Bill Altman. “There were plenty of good cars in the area for the two-day program, and we were hoping to give the fans a night to remember. But, Mother Nature had other ideas.”

No rain date has been set, but discussions are underway to find a suitable alternative.

Racing will resume, weather permitting of course, on May 21. That will be Scrappers Night at the speedway. Scrappy, the mascot of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball team, will be on hand to greet the fans. There will be special promotions in addition to the Saturday Night Live! racing.

Remember that there will be early bird racing at 5:30 for the Elder Tractor Sales and Service Junior Sprints, the Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles Mini Stocks, and the Rock Concrete Supply Modified Lites. Then, at 7 p.m., the green flag will fly for the Precise Racing Products Open Stocks, Bonnell’s Rod Shop Outlaw Sprint Warriors, Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds, and 4 Your Car Connection 410 Sprint Cars.

Gates will open at 3:30 for the racers, and 4 for the fans.

“With all of the rainouts we have had, it will almost be like opening night all over again.” Altman explained, “it should be exciting, with all of that pent up energy and emotion.”

Regular event ticket pricing will apply. That means adults will be admitted for $13, seniors (60+) for $11, and students (9-15) for $5. The children (8 and under) will be free. The Family Pass goes for just $28, and that will apply for two adults and up to four minors of any age. The Pit Passes will b $30.

The Mo Vaughn Transport Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series heads into town on May 28 for the only night that the Sprint Cars will race without their wings. That is always a fan favorite. Then, May 29, the track will host the All American Spring Nationals Truck & Tractor Pull. The Full Pull Production will be presented by Ritenour Equipment Co.
