(Mercer, PA August 13, 2016): August 13’s Smackdown! has been canceled due to wet grounds at Mercer Raceway Park. In addition, severe thunderstorm activity is expected to hit the speedway later in the day. It has not yet been determined whether this show will be rescheduled. August 20 will be the Summer Shootout, pitting the Bonnell’s Rod Shop Outlaw Sprint Warriors against the F.A.S.T. 305 Sprints. Come see our best take on their counterparts from Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park! It will be a battle for regional bragging rights. Gates will open at 3 for the racers and 4 for the fans. Racing will begin with the three star program at 5:30. Joining the Warriors and F.A.S.T Sprints at around 7 will be the 4 Your Car Connection 410 Sprints, the Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds, and the Precise Racing Products Open Stocks.
Then on August 27, the speedway will crown its champions. All divisions will be in action contending for double points. Championship Night will also be the second of two Meet Your Heroes Nights, presented by Herr’s, the official snack food of Mercer Raceway Park.
