Little Guy Nationals Taking Shape

(Mercer, PA August 25, 2016): In just a few short weeks, Mercer Raceway Park will host the 17th Annual Little Guys Nationals. Held on September 23 and 24, 2016, this event showcases the support classes that compete weekly at the speedway, and it brings in several other divisions to expand the racing card.

Ending some speculation, speedway management has decided that all cars racing in the Bonnell’s Rod Sop Outlaw Sprint Warrior division must comply with Mercer Raceway Park rules.

In addition, some details regarding the purses to be paid have been determined. Additional information regarding pay-offs can be obtained by contacting the track office at 724-662-1310.

The Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds will pay $1,000 to the winner of the feature on Friday, with $100 to start. Saturday’s feature will pay $2,000 to the winner, and $130 to start.

The Bonnell’s Rods Shop Outlaw Sprint Warriors will have $500 on the line on Friday, with $100 to start. Saturday’s winner will earn $1,000, while start money will be $100.

The Precise Racing Products Open Stock Cars will race for $500 to win and $70 to start on Friday. On Saturday, there could be as many as three feature races, depending on the number of entries. The A Main will pay $1,500 to win and $125 to start. The B Main will have $1,000 for first and $75 to start. If needed, the C Main will pay $300 to win and $50 to start.

In the Rock Concrete Supply Modified Lites, Friday’s winner will receive $500 and starting money will be $60. Saturday’s winner’s share will be $700, with $60 being paid to start.

The first place in Friday’s feature for the Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles Mini Stocks will pay $150 to win and all starters will earn at least $30. these amounts will increase for Saturday’s racing to $200 to win and $35 to start.

The 270 Micro Sprints will be racing for $500 to win on Friday and $60 to start. Saturday’s go will pay $700 to win and $60 to start.

The 2 Barrel E-Mods will pay $275 for the winner on Friday, with $70 to start. Saturday’s top racer will get $500, while starters will receive at least $75.

Remember that early registrations submitted before September 16 will receive a discount on the applicable fee.
