Penn-Ohio Stocks, and More, Friday at Little Guys Nationals

(Mercer, PA September 1, 2016): Stock cars have always been a featured class during the Little Guys Nationals at Mercer Raceway Park, and the 17th Annual running of the event will be no different. On Friday night, September 23, the Penn-Ohio Stocks will challenge the Precise Racing Products Open Stocks, with $500 going to the winner. So, all of the top Stock Car talents from throughout the region will be on hand. On Saturday, September 24, there may be as many as three different features for Precise Racing Products Open Stocks, depending on the number of cars that register. The A Feature will pay $1,500 to the winner, while the B feature will pay $1,000. If needed, the C feature will pay $300 for first place.

In addition to the Stock Cars, racing will be held for seven other classes. With this kind of variety in the offing, every race wan will have a favorite class or two to root for.

Each night, fans will see the Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds, the Bonnell’s Rod Shop Outlaw Sprint Warriors, the Rock Concrete Supply Modified Lites, the Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles Mini Stocks, and the Elder Tractor Sales & Service Junior Sprints. These classes are familiar to the fans at Mercer Raceway Park, as they are significant parts of the Saturday Night Live! racing programs.

But wait, there is more! The 270 Micros will make their only appearances of the 2016 season at the Park. These scaled-down Sprint Cars have motorcycle engines, and three-wide racing is common on the tricky Mercer oval. And, the two-barrel Econo-Mods will also be on hand.

Racers should remember that early registrations can still be submitted in order to get the $15 discount. To obtain the savings, the registration must be received by September 16.

Registration forms can be obtained from the track website, www. mercerracewaypark.com. Or, a call to the track office, at 724-662-1310, can get the paperwork rolling.
