FAST 410 & FAST 305 Sprints Highlight Summer Shootout Presented by J.S. Bova Excavating

Mercer PA (Aug 14, 2017)

This Saturday, August 19th, the FAST On Dirt Series will invade Mercer Raceway Park with their 410 and 305 sprint divisions for the “Summer Shootout” Presented by J.S. Bova Excavating. This is the first time that the FAST Series will bring both of their divisions to the speedway, in what some are calling an epic battle between the Western PA locals versus the Ohio Natives. Between track and series officials, we are anticipating 70+ sprint cars in the pits for this event for what certainly should be a show you won’t want to miss. The 410 Sprint Cars will be $3,000 to win and the 305 Sprint Cars will be $1,000 to win.

The FAST Series was started in 2009 by three fans, rewarding the Fremont and Attica regulars. Since then, it has branched out to other area tracks showcasing the Ohio talent at many tracks that don’t regularly have the 410 and 305 Sprint Cars. Bringing the FAST Series to Mercer Raceway Park is an excellent opportunity for local fans to see the talents of other drivers from all over Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan battle it out for the bragging rights.

The “Summer Shootout” is being presented by local business, J.S. Bova Excavating, out of Struthers, Ohio. J.S. Bova Excavating has been around since 2013 specializing in underground utilities and site work. J.S. Bova has 36 employees, they serve all over the Western PA and Eastern Ohio regions. They are big in the racing world as their son, Cody Bova, is a FAST 305 Series driver along with a local competitor at Mercer as well.

The “Summer Shootout” will feature the two FAST On Dirt classes, 410 Sprints and 305 Sprints. Along with these two classes, the Turn 4 Toilets 358 Mods will be present going for $800 to win. It should be a battle between multiple drivers as it has been all season with Jimmy Holden coming out on top so far, followed closely by Lonny Riggs and Kyle Fink.

The Rock Concrete Supply Mod Lites will be $400 to win with a chance to win an extra $200 bonus. J.S. Bova Excavating will be putting up a $200 bonus to any driver that can win and beat Mark Marcucci on Saturday. Marcucci has been on fire lately, recently capturing his 40th win at Mercer Raceway Park.

Last but not least, the Ray’s Racing Collectibles and Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking Mini Stocks will be there as well at $200 to win. It will be exciting to watch Bill Fuchs and Tim Callahan battle it out within the last weeks of the Points.

Show up points will be awarded to the 410 and 305 Sprint Car classes. All other divisions are normal points.

Pit gates will be opened at 4 p.m. Hot laps and qualifying at 6 p.m. Heats will start at 7 p.m. Camping is welcome and free for the weekend.
