By Jim Balentine Michaels Mercer Raceway and Allegheny sprint tour pay tribute to 305 drivers Brandon Hawkins with massive weekend memorial. It will be a special and emotional evening at Michaels Mercer Raceway this Saturday, August 22 as the track the drivers the crews and the fans pay tribute to Brandon Hawkins who at 26 years old perished from a construction accident July 20th. He won his first ever 305 sprint feature at Bedford on that prior Friday night, competed at Mercer on Saturday night, turned 26 years old on Sunday and then was tragically killed the next day on Monday. He leaves his son Maverick, his parents Dave and Chrissy, his girlfriend Ashley and his family and friends so to honor him and the people who loved him  The Big Mav Classic will be this Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Michael’s Mercer Raceway.  We would like to thank all of the individuals and businesses who have helped make this event possible for us and Brandon’s son, Maverick Hawkins. The Brandon Hawkins Challenge: All 26 A main starters will receive an extra $50 before the start of the race.  If the 27H Brandon Hawkins car (Driven by Kyle Colwell) finishes ahead of you then you must donate the $50 back to his son, Maverick Hawkins.  His car will be starting the race in the 27th position. Also on the card will be the big block modifieds who have yet to have a repeat winner: the FASTRAK modifieds and the mighty Mercer mini stocks.
