Johnny Beaber in Victory Lane at Mercer Raceway Park the first year of the World of Outlaws.  If the feature paid $2,000.00 or more to win, it was a WoO point paying event, which this was. Michaels Mercer raceway set to open 73rd anniversary season Saturday April 20th as points start.

After suffering the first cancellation of 2024 Michaels Mercer raceway will kickoff the 73rd anniversary season this coming Saturday, April 20th as points will start for the 410 sprint cars, FASTRAK crate modifieds,  Racesaver 305 sprints and mini stocks. Pit gates open at 4. Grandstands at 5 and racing at 7 pm.
The fire breathing 410 sprint cars will compete in an unsanctioned $3000 to win event. 2 time defending track champion Adam Kekich should be on hand, as well as four-time track champion Jack Sodeman Jr., Hall of Fame driver and multi time track champ Bob Felmlee, Brandon Spithaler and the leading feature winner over the past couple seasons in the division, AJ Flick.
The FASTRAK crate Modifieds should have a stout field of cars as the division grows year after year. Jordan Ehrenberg who won 2 features last season will be on hand to defend his first ever track championship against multi time division champ Brian Schaffer. Gage Priester, Jim Bryce, and veteran Frank Guidace among other drivers will be on hand. 
Jeremy Kornbau dominated the Racesaver 305 sprints last season with 4 wins out of 7 and the track championship. Longtime Mercer competitors and former champions Jim Morris,Jake Gomola and Jarrett Rosencrance will return to do battle along with Roman and Vivian Jones, Jacob Begenwald and a host of rookie drivers moving up into the class.
The mini stocks will be in competition for a $400 to win event and with the new rule package for 2024 it should bring some different drivers to the historic speedway. 4 time track champion Andy Thompson, Randy and Carl Ealy, Josh Eakman and others will be ready to take on the outside invaders trying to defend their home turf. A large turn out is expected for the event.
All drivers must have the raceivers working and use the red ambit transponder system.   Every driver must complete a registration form for every car and bring that with them with the fee to the pit shack when they sign in. The form is available below or go to our website under the driver info to print it out
